A huge thank you to everyone who supported last week's Women and Girls campaign. It is wonderful news that we reached our target and will be able to train and equip 500 girls in food processing and soap making so that they can earn an income in their villages. We can't thank you enough for giving these girls the opportunity to create sustainable livelihoods for themselves and for saving them from the dangers of having to migrate to gold mines and cities. I attach a few pictures of the soap-making training we did last year, which is providing women and girls with a steady income as well as highly nutritious oil for cooking, and affordable, much-needed soap for the local market.

Balanites fruit contains a kernal rich in nutritious oil suitable for cooking and soap-making

With milling equipment and training, this can be made into soap

Imported soap is scarce and is too expensive for people to buy. Hand-made soap is needed for hygiene and for washing clothes, dishes and for safe childbirth.
